Scaling a Mental Wellness Platform Through Strategic Positioning

B2B DevTools · United States · Series A · 2025 to 2026

mental healthcare strategy and campaign

Overview

When Psyter approached us, the platform was experiencing a slowdown in momentum despite already operating in a fast-growing category. At first glance, it appeared to be a campaign performance issue. But after a deeper strategic review, we found that the larger challenge was category perception itself.

Situation

The product was strong and the pipeline was full, but the win rate kept sliding. Every deck opened with features; every deal turned into a line-by-line comparison the bigger competitor was built to win. The team's own diagnosis was "we need more pipeline." The evidence said the opposite: the pipeline was fine, but the positioning was sending every deal into a war they could not win.

What we did

  • Ran customer and lost-deal analysis to surface the real buying motive: making platform teams indispensable to engineering leadership, not "observability."
  • Built a category claim around that motive, one the larger competitor structurally could not follow without contradicting its own enterprise positioning.
  • Rebuilt the message hierarchy: one claim, three proofs, rewritten across homepage, deck, and outbound.
  • Restructured pricing from per-seat (which invited comparison) to platform tiers (which aligned price with the new claim).
  • Carried the claim to market through the Growth Partnership: founder-led LinkedIn, a technical editorial engine, and an AI-answer program so assistants cited them for the reframed problem.

When Psyter approached us, the platform was experiencing a slowdown in momentum despite already operating in a fast-growing category. At first glance, it appeared to be a campaign performance issue. But after a deeper strategic review, we found that the larger challenge was category perception itself.

Most mental healthcare platforms were positioned around distress, burnout, or crisis response. This naturally limited adoption because users associated therapy with something they turn to only when things become serious.

Our hypothesis was simple: the next phase of growth in mental wellness would not come from competing harder within the existing category narrative, but from expanding the category itself.

This led to the creation of the “Everyday Mind Care” positioning.

The strategy reframed mental wellness as a preventive, everyday self-care habit rather than a reactive solution. The insight behind the positioning came from observing how society had normalized routines around skincare, fitness, and wellness, while mental care still remained culturally delayed and stigmatized.

Instead of marketing Psyter as another therapy platform, we helped position it as part of a broader everyday wellness ecosystem.

This strategic shift influenced the entire campaign architecture, including messaging, creative direction, funnel structure, retargeting systems, platform optimization, and audience acquisition strategy.

The campaign itself was designed less as a promotional push and more as a category-level narrative intervention. The objective was to reduce psychological resistance, expand the addressable market, and build long-term differentiation in a crowded healthcare space.

At the execution level, we rebuilt and optimized acquisition systems across Meta, Google, website funnels, retargeting infrastructure, and conversion tracking. We also helped establish the website as an independent booking channel instead of relying primarily on app-driven acquisition.

The results validated both the positioning and the broader strategic thesis.

New client bookings increased by 55.68%, total bookings grew by 27.67%, and average daily bookings increased by nearly 20%. Website bookings scaled significantly enough for the website to emerge as the second-largest booking source during the campaign period. Audience acquisition costs also reduced substantially across awareness campaigns.

More importantly, the engagement created long-term strategic value beyond campaign metrics.

The “Everyday Mind Care” positioning gave Psyter a differentiated space within the mental wellness category, allowing the brand to move beyond transactional therapy marketing and toward a broader preventive wellness narrative.

That distinction continues to create long-term advantages in communication, audience expansion, campaign scalability, and brand recall. The engagement demonstrated that in healthcare categories especially, sustainable growth often comes not from louder advertising, but from fundamentally changing how people think about the problem itself.
